Discussion about the future of ‘the bounce’ are currently underway

The AFL bounce is under threat.

AFL umpires boss, Hayden Kennedy, telling Sportsday discussions about the future of the bounce are currently underway.

‘There’s certainly discussion around at the moment as to which way the bounce should go.’

Kennedy is not a supporter of the bounce.

‘I think there’s no real benefit, I think by throwing it up and creating an even contest on all occasions is probably the best way to go.’

‘We don’t want to stop good umpires from coming through because they can’t bounce or don’t bounce at the community level.’ he said.
