One of Melbourne’s most popular lanes for street art looks like a “disgrace” with tags and graffiti ruining the artwork, a 3AW listener says.

Caller Geoff told Tony Jones he took some interstate visitors to show off Melbourne’s thriving art scene on the weekend.

He said an artist had clearly spent time on the Anthony Bourdain painting

“I had some visitors down from North Queensland on the weekend and decided to give them a tour of the city,” he said.

“I thought we’d take them down to Hosier Lane to have a look at the artwork there and it’s just a shocker.

“Every decent bit of artwork has been tagged over the top.

“It’s just a disgrace.”
