Doctor speaks up against the state government’s GP payroll tax changes
The Victorian Government wants GPs to pay full payroll tax which they have not incurred up until now, with Co-Deputy Chair of RACGP Victoria Dr Aadhill Aziz and other industry groups speaking up against the changes.
The state government denies there’s been any change to the payroll tax system, but Dr Aziz warns GP fees would increase by $20 on average.
“We are speaking up for a reason because we genuinely care about our patients and we genuinely care about our practices,” Dr Aziz told Heidi Murphy, filling in for Tom Elliott.
