Doctors say we should be wearing helmets climbing up ladders
Trauma experts say more Victorians are being seriously injured and killed falling from ladders.
Dr Helen Ackland, a senior clinical trauma research fellow at The Alfred Hospital, is calling on people to wear helmets when they climb a ladder.
‘We have about 1400 people in Victoria a year who fall from ladders and the biggest cause of death is traumatic brain injury,’ she told 3AW Breakfast.
‘We are calling on the public to just do something as simple as putting a bike helmet on, putting it on properly while they are up a ladder.
‘This is unfortunately becoming more frequent.’
