Dog shot and killed in Melton South shooting
Offenders remain on the run after a dog was shot dead in Melton South overnight.
Police say a number of shots were fired into a Melton South unit on Toolern Street (above) about 2.20am.
The bullets hit the house, a car and fatally injured the dog, believed to be a Staffordshire cross.
The three adults in the home were not injured.
3AW police reporter Pat Mitchell is at the scene.
“It’s actually the rear unit that’s been targeted,” Pat told 3AW Breakfast.
“I don’t know if you’d call it a drive-by because you can’t really drive past a rear unit.”
