Australians experiencing domestic violence will have access to 10 days paid leave from today.

Kate Fitz-Gibbon, Director of the Monash Gender and Family Violence Prevention Centre and Professor of Social Science, told 3AW Breakfast violence against women cost Australia $22 billion each year.

“We should be seeing this as a really important step forward,” she said.
