‘Don’t be silly’: Tom Elliott butts heads with Merri-bek councillor over socialism

Tom Elliott has gone back-and-forth with Merri-bek councillor and socialist activist, Sue Bolton, on the topic of socialism.

It came after democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani was elected as mayor in New York City, with the 3AW Mornings host wondering whether socialism is making a comeback across the west.

The interview started calm, but when Elliott brought up whether a particular invention could be created in a socialist society, things started to escalate.
