Doug Fryer shares safety message after he was injured in motorbike accident

Tom Elliott

Doug Fryer has been injured in a motorbike accident.

The Assistant Commissioner for Road Policing was riding in bushland at Kinglake when he struck a log on Wednesday.

He tells 3AW’s Neil Mitchell if he hadn’t been wearing all of his safety gear it would have been so much worse.

‘Reckon I would’ve de-sleeved my hand, busted my chest and right elbow as well,’ Doug Fryer said on 3AW Mornings.

He rode 15 kilometres with a broken wrist to seek help.

Doug says he won’t be returning to the bike … Well, at least for another six weeks while he heals.
