A doctor who has vowed to break the law and test the drugs of festival-goers is confident it will stop people taking dangerous substances.

Dr Alex Wodak, president of the Australian Drug Law Reform Foundation, told Tom Elliott the process took 25 minutes and was one which had worked overseas.

‘When people get told that the drug you’ve tested is highly dangerous, most people throw it away,’ he said on 3AW Drive.

But he said the issue didn’t start and end there.

Tom Elliott: You think we should de-criminalise drugs?

Alex Wodak: ‘Of course we should.’

‘It’s clear that what we’re doing has failed ? not just slightly ? but comprehensively.’
