The drag queen at the centre of a petition moving to ban a “Drag Storytime” event for kids admits she was “shocked” to learn it had created any controversy.

The petition, which wanted to block the event at Oakleigh library, has since been removed from the internet and the event will go ahead as planned.

“It’s 2023, I don’t understand how people can think so backwards, to be honest,” Sam T told Neil Mitchell.
