Dramatic citizen’s arrest performed after stabbing attack in Moonee Ponds

A knife-wielding attacker has been pinned to the ground in a dramatic citizen’s arrest in Moonee Ponds.

The 54-year-old offender was held down by passers-by, as well as the victim, until police arrived at the scene on Homer Street last night.

The knife-wielding man was reportedly yelling “Allahu Akbar” as the arrest took place.

The attacker is known to police for previous petty crimes.
