Dramatic scenes as train smashes into car stuck on level crossing because of another crash

A woman is lucky to be alive after a train smashed into her car, which was stuck on tracks at a level crossing after another crash happened moments earlier.

Ben rang 3AW Afternoons on Thursday to report a crash between two cars on High Street, at Malvern Road.

He rang back 15 minutes later.

“Things have gone from bad to worse,” he said.

“It’s a complete and utter mess.

“The train came around the corner so quickly and didn’t have any time to brake.

“There is nothing left of the car, but she is OK, which is amazing.”
