Drink driver manages to drive 18km on wrong side of Princes Freeway
A woman has been charged with drink driving after travelling on the wrong side of the Princes Freeway between Little River and Werribee last night.
Police allege the woman drove about 18 kilometres on the wrong side of the freeway before she was intercepted near Duncans Road at 10.20pm.
Authorities received numerous calls from drivers who narrowly avoided the woman as she travelled towards them.
A 23-year-old Pakenham woman was breath tested at Werribee Police Station which resulted in a .177 per cent reading.
She was charged with drink driving, conduct endangering life, dangerous driving and a number of other traffic offences.
The woman’s licence was immediately suspended and her car, a Holden Barina, was impounded at a cost of $1006.10 for one month.
She has been bailed to appear at the Werribee Magistrates’ Court on 19 December.
