Driver flees after killing cyclist in South Yarra

A female cyclist has died in a hit-run in South Yarra.

Police say a white Mercedes sedan clipped another vehicle and rolled onto a cyclist on Chapel Street near Grover Street about 10am on Sunday.

The female cyclist was treated by emergency services, but died at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes ran off on foot.

The car is thought to be stolen.

Two parked cars were also struck during the incident.

Traffic is currently blocked on Chapel Street between Ellis Street and Malvern Road and diversions are in place.

Investigations continue.
