Driver on the run after dumping his female passenger at petrol station

A man remains on the run after dumping his 19-year-old female passenger during a lengthy pursuit in Melbourne’s south.

The pursuit began in Cranbourne around midnight, after police spotted the Ford wagon with false plates being driven at high speed on Breens Road.

A short time later, the driver has got his passenger, a 19-year-old woman, to get out and fill the car with fuel at a petrol station in McClelland Drive, Frankston.

But when police turned up, he drove off, leaving the teenager behind.

She was subsequently arrested.

The pursuit of the vehicle was terminated due to safety reasons and was eventually found dumped in Elwood.

The driver is still on the run.
