Driver smashed over the head with a hammer, bashed and then robbed in Bulleen attack

A man has been smashed over the head with a hammer, bashed and then robbed in a terrifying attack at Bulleen.

The victim, 25, had pulled over on Manningham Road to exchange insurance details when his car was bumped on Monday morning.

Police said the two attackers were of southern european appearance, with distinctive full dark beards.

They were driving a late model Honda Integra.
