Dwayne Russell believes Geelong can forget about playing a Preliminary Final at home.
The AFL controversially allowed GWS to play its Prelim at Spotless Stadium, but forced the Cats to play at the MCG to maximise the crowd.
Geelong has appealed to have its own finals at home, but Dwayne understands the Cats have been told to forget about it.
‘Tonight’s 90,000 crowd against a non-Melbourne based team could be the final nail in that coffin,’ he said.
Geelong premiership captain Cameron Ling said he doesn’t mind these games being at the MCG, because he’s used to it by now.
But he said the AFL has set a dangerous precedent.
