Dwayne says the UFC reinforces Melbourne’s place as the world’s sporting capital

The success of Sunday’s UFC event at Etihad Stadium has reinforced Melbourne’s place as the sporting capital of the world.

‘This town is on the world map more iconically for its sport than anything else,’ Dwayne said on Monday.

‘It’s why the MCG was the Mayfair on our Monopoly,’ he said, referring to the new Melbourne version of the classic board game.

And Dwayne has a stark message to those who remain against the UFC: ‘welcome to the real world.’
