3AW Mornings is spending peak hour with Metro’s authorised officers, seeing how many tickets are dished out and the new technique being employed to pack more people onto carriages.

It follows reports that Melbourne’s peak is stretching to last six hours every day.

Program producer Samantha Lowcock told Neil she watched officers at South Yarra station attempting to move people down the carriage, and took the below video.

“It’s called Dwell Management, it’s a part of their new trial,” she said.

“They usher people on, tell them to move down the carriage, they go up to the window and wave their arms around.”
