Banned Essendon star Dyson Heppell has raised ASADA’s eyebrows with a tweet and appearance at Essendon Kia on Monday.

Heppell, who is one of the 34 players serving a one-year ban for doping, tweeted on Monday he’d be appearing at the car dealership – Essendon’s major sponsor.

3AW’s Sam ‘Scoop’ McClure said ASADA and the AFL were both unaware of Heppell’s appearance and questioned whether it would be viewed kindly, given the restrictions and rules surrounding the suspended players.

‘I daresay ASADA will be sending Essendon a please explain,’ McClure said on Sports Today.

‘It sounds ridiculous and harsh, but Dyson Heppell’s twitter reads ‘No.21 at Essendon’ and he has 19,000 followers.

‘As soon as he tweets out that he’s going to be somewhere that is the major sponsor of his club, it turns it into an issue.’
