E-scooter trial challenged by disability advocate

Jacqui Felgate

After the City of Yarra extended its e-scooter trial to October a disability advocate has launched a challenge to pause the trial.

Shane Hryhorec, a member of the disability advisory committee for the City of Yarra, is challenging the decision due to the impact the scooters are having on footpath accessibility.

“I’m a quadriplegic and I use a wheelchair, I live in Richmond and anytime I want to go to the shops or go visit a friend and I have to use the footpath, I’m finding that day to day, the footpaths are blocked by e-scooters,” Mr Hryhorec told Dee Dee.
