The Treasurer went on the front foot with Neil Mitchell this morning in a fiery defence of his government’s credentials in the wake of the East-West Link debacle.
He denied the Andrews Government has lost credibility over its $1.1 billion axing of the East West Link and accused the Napthine government of hiding the facts from Victorians.

Shadow Treasurer Michael O’Brien, who was Treasurer when the contract was signed, said he wore no responsibility for the compensation costs.
‘You don’t have to pay compensation if you honour a contract,’ he told Neil Mitchell.
‘You only pay compensation if you rip one up.
‘I don’t think it’s fair for the Coalition to accept responsibility for Labor having walked away from the contract.’
