EDITORIAL: We should not have to compensate taxi license holders
The government is set to legalise ride sharing, allowing taxi companies to set their own fares and introduce a one dollar ‘fairness fund’ to compensate taxi licence owners.
Compensation could end up costing as much as $800 million dollars and passengers will be forced to pay a 1 dollar levy for every ride.
