Eight former footy stars to play for local clubs this year
Former Melbourne star Nathan Jones will join a handful of footballers coming out of retirement to help grassroots Victorian footy clubs bounce back from two years of COVID-19 pain.
Carlton Draught has launched the “Carlton Draft” which will see eight former footy stars play a game for a local club.
It’s hoped their appearances will boost interest and attendance.
Jones told 3AW Breakfast he was looking forward to putting the boots back on.
“It should be good fun!” he said.
“Obviously there is a really good reason behind it all.”
