Elderly man dies in house fire at Noble Park North

A man has died and a woman is in hospital after a house fire in Melbourne’s outer south east.

Emergency services were called to the Ascot Drive property at Noble Park North shortly after midnight on Thursday.

Fire crews quickly brought the blaze under control.

Paramedics attempted to revive an elderly man but he died at the scene.

An elderly woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are investigating.

The cause of the fire is not known.?
