Investigators say the 81-year-old Delacombe man missed a bridge on Beaufort Carngham Road and veered into a creek yesterday afternoon.

When emergency services arrived they found the vehicle submerged in the creek, with the water up to the man’s neck.

Ballarat Highway Patrol officers, CFA crews, paramedics and some bystanders rescued the man from the vehicle.

He was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
