Elderly man shoots himself after shots are fired at brothel

An elderly man has shot himself in the stomach before being arrested on the Calder Freeway.

It comes after shots were fired at a Brunswick brothel.

Witnesses reported hearing two shots near Romantics, a legal brothel on Colebrook Street shortly before 10am.

Nobody was injured and there was no visible damage.

Police later confirmed they’d arrested an 86-year-old man.

He was found with gunshot wounds to the stomach.
