Elderly person dies following outbreak of food poisoning

An elderly person has died following an outbreak of food poisoning in the City of Moreland.

The Department of Health and Human Services has confirmed with 3AW Mornings the patient died after attending an event run using the same kitchen that prepares food for Meals On Wheels.

It follows 14 confirmed cases of food poisoning at the Meals On Wheels service run by City of Moreland in December.
