Elderly taxi driver bashed, robbed at Coburg North

An 82-year-old taxi driver has been assaulted and robbed in Coburg North.

Police say the cab driver was confronted by two men at the Lily Street depot when he arrived for work about 4am last Thursday.

One of the men hit the elderly man with a wooden stick, while the other demanded cash.

The victim handed over the small amount of money he had, and the pair fled.

Detectives today released CCTV vision of the attackers.

They were wearing dark clothing with hoodies covering their faces.

They spoke with Indian accents.
