The daughter of an 85-year-old woman who purchased musical tickets through an online ticket marketplace says the elderly woman was duped into thinking she had excellent seats.

Beth Simpson told 3AW Breakfast they purchased Dream Lover tickets through Viagogo, a ticket reselling company.

When the tickets arrived in the mail, they realised they were actually going to be seated in Row Z rather than up the front.

“Mum was very excited about the Row EE because we got online and saw where they were,” she told Ross and John.

She told 3AW Breakfast she contacted the company to seek a refund of the difference in cost between the rows.

“They basically said bad luck, this is what we paid for, and what they’ve got on their system was correct,” she said.
