Elderly woman hurt in East Melbourne

An elderly woman has been taken to hospital after she tripped and fell into oncoming traffic at East Melbourne.

Thankfully, she was not hit by a car.

3AW Drive was alerted to the incident on Albert Street on Wednesday afternoon.

Ambulance Victoria confirmed a woman in her 80s had been taken to the nearby St Vincent’s Hospital.

It was initially feared she’d been hit by a car, but it later emerged the car nearby had in fact stopped to help.
