A data analyst who was one of the few people to correctly predict the Coalition would win the 2019 federal election, despite almost every opinion poll suggesting the opposite, says they won’t be as lucky this time around.

Elisa Choy told Tom Elliott on Friday she it was “highly unlikely” the Morrison government would retain power.

“It’s still looking like a minority Labor government, with support from the Greens and independents, or a slim majority,” she said.

Elisa Choy said a perceived lack of action on climate change and corruption, as well as discontent about Mr Morrison’s handling of issues around women, were set to cost the Coalition the election.

She said the significant number of early voters hinted at an enthusiasm from the public to vote the government out.
