The Victorian Electoral Commission says it has been forced to send out another reminder to the state’s political parties to cool it at polling booths.

It comes after Neil Mitchell was alerted to a voter being told “they’d have to be on drugs” to vote Liberal at a voting centre.

Sue Lang, Director of Communication and Engagement at the Victorian Electoral Commission, said there was no doubt tension was higher than most previous elections.

“I think there is a lot of strong feeling in this community about this election,” she said.
