Electric vehicles outsell petrol cars for first time on record

More Australians bought electric vehicles compared with petrol or diesel cars in September for the first time on record.

Electric Vehicle Council head of legal Aman Gaur told 3AW Mornings host Tom Elliott that this data reflects consumer trends over the past 12 months.

“We’ve seen electric cars double in their sales, whereas petrol and diesel have consistently fallen over that time,” he said.
