Elsternwick jewellery store robbed by three men of African appearance

An Elsternwick jewellery store has been held-up by three men armed with a gun and machete.

The incident happened on Wednesday afternoon.

The trio have been described as African in appearance and were wearing shirts on their heads when they charged into the store.

Staff were threatened before the group made off with a tray of jewellery.

They then jumped into an unregistered car and sped off along Orrong Road.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
