Student dead after school bus rollover near Geelong

A female student has tragically passed away after the school bus she was on rolled over early Wednesday morning.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman confirmed the school bus had 28 students on board at the time, with another student needing to be airlifted to hospital.

Victoria Police have confirmed total of 19 students have been taken to hospital.

Victoria Police told 3AW Mornings several students have been seriously injured, and there are grave fears there may have been a fatality.

Ambulance Victoria confirmed five patients were taken to University Hospital Geelong, with a further five transported to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Word on The Street caller Jack alerted Tom Elliott to the incident on the Hamilton Highway just after 8.30 am today.
