Energy regulator approves power price rise
Australians could be in for power bill shock after the Australian Energy Regulator ticked off a five per cent increase to the base price of energy.
It comes into effect from July 1.
“It’s mostly as a result of our dependence on coal, in particular, but also gas,” Mark Ogge, principal advisor of Climate and Energy at The Australia Institute, told 3AW Drive.
