With the EPA’s residential noise regulations to expire later this year, the authority is calling on Victorians to have their say on what noises annoy them.

“They were created 10 years ago to decide what is acceptable noise, what isn’t and when it’s ok to run the lawn mower,” Neil said.

“The current list will expire in October this year so there’s a chance now to have a say on them.”

EPA CEO Niall Finegan told Neil Mitchell he needs to know what the community expects in order to set a reasonable community standard.

“We really want people’s input, we want to understand what irritates you, what’s important,” Niall said.
