Aussie legend Eric Bana spoke with Denis Walter about his upcoming appearance in Melbourne narrating David Attenborough’s Planet Earth II, live in concert.

The BBC documentary will be played at The Plenery in April, with Bana “playing the part” of the legendary Attenborough, alongside a full orchestra.

“I was quite thrilled when I heard about this as a concept,” Bana told Denis Walter.

“Having it accompanied by a live symphony orchestra is really fascinating, it’ll be a real treat for the audience I think.”

But Bana says he won’t be trying to imitate Attenborough’s unique voice.

“I don’t think there’ll be too much ad-libbing, I’ll be sticking to the script very carefully,” he said.

“I won’t be having a go at the legend that is David Attenborough, I’ll be treading very carefully there!”
