Essendon players to appeal doping decision in Swiss court
At least 20 Essendon players found guilty of doping by the Court of Arbitration for Sport will make a last-ditch appeal to clear their name.
Chip Le Grand told Denis Walter the players would head to a Swiss court later this year.
But they won’t be seeking an injunction, according to The Australian journalist and are ‘resigned’ to not playing this year.
‘It won’t really have any impact on this AFL season,’ Le Grand said on 3AW Afternoons.
‘I’d expect there will be more than 20 players that will be involved in this.
‘Obviously the others, who aren’t involved, will still benefit, of course, if the decision is overturned.’
Le Grand said the whole case would be heard in French.
‘So, if you think it’s been bewildering to this point?’
