Essendon signs Premiership Hawk Simpkin

Essendon has signed Premiership Hawk Jonathan Simpkin as a top-up player.

Simpkin played 33 games for Hawthorn, including the 2013 Grand Final against Fremantle. He played just one game in 2015.

Before that, he played four games for Geelong.

Simpkin joins James Kelly and Ryan Crowley as confirmed signings to date, with Mathew Stokes expected to follow shortly.
