The market for cheese in Australia has grown significantly, far gone from the days it was seen as bad for cholesterol.

So much so a ten-day cheese festival has opened up in Melbourne.

Celebrating European cheese, more specifically from France, the Bon Fromage Festival is a cheese and wine lover’s marketplace.

Gregoire Driebe, representative to Asia from the French Dairy Board says cheese has been a specialty for thousands of years.

‘In France we always eat cheese,’ Driebe told Ross and John.

Bon Fromage runs from November 11 – November 20 in Faraday Lane, Carlton, just near the corner of Lygon & Faraday Streets. There will be a cheese market, apperitivo & cheese market, and masterclasses from some of Melbourne’s favourite chefs and cheesemongers.
