‘Experiences you never forget’: Tennis great urges players to embrace Olympic tournament

The Olympics Today

Australian tennis legend Todd Woodbridge has urged current players to embrace the Olympic experience, rather than opt not to play the event.

Several players including Aryna Sabalenka and Ons Jabeur have pulled up of the upcoming Olympic tennis tournament – to be played at Roland Garros – citing the surface change with matches during this part of the year usually played on grass or hard court.

“One of the great things of an Olympics is going into the Olympic Village and being with your team and meeting people where you actually as the athlete feel inferior to what their skills are and that happens a lot,” he said on The Olympics Today.

“They’re experiences that you never forget.”
