Tom Elliott has revealed he’s starting to question if legalising marijuana is a good idea.

He points to two issues, the strength of cannabis, and marijuana-induced psychosis.

“A young man [is] facing a trial in Ballarat at the moment, who is accused of murdering his grandmother with a mattock,” he said.

Co-director of health and policy at the University of Sydney’s brain and mind centre, professor Ian Hickie, says stronger doses of cannabis is an issue in other jurisdictions where cannabis has already been legalised.

“Younger people are using more, and are being exposed to more THC than ever,” he said.
