For the first time Vietnam War conscripts who never fought will be able to march as a unit on Anzac Day this year.

But a batch of the special medals struck in their honour are lost in the post and haven’t arrived.

Nasho Fair Go president Geoff Parkes told Neil Mitchell he’s been mailing out replica medals via express post to conscripts who have ordered medals from the Department of Defence and are waiting for them to arrive, but some of those replicas also haven’t arrived.

“We formed this organisation and started telling people they’re entitled to medals … then they found out it takes six months to get them from the Department of Defence,” he told Neil Mitchell.

“To get around that we buy replica sets of medals from a very good supplier for the blokes that haven’t got medals,” he said.
