Extinction Rebellion activist calls on government to declare climate emergency and warns of planned mass civil disobedience

Extinction Rebellion activists have conducted a slow-walk through the city today, blocking Collins St before ending up outside the 3AW office, and have warned there will be more disruptions this week.

Activist and clinical psychologist, Jane Morton, says they’re calling on the government to declare a climate emergency.

“Last year we reached 1.5 degrees of warming and that means we’re in the danger zone … nothing could be more important for all of our futures,” she told Tom Elliott.
