‘Extremely disappointing’: Recycling expert tries to clarify the container deposit scheme

Recycling expert and lecturer in hazardous materials at Deakin University, Trevor Thornton, has slammed the state government’s container deposit scheme.

The scheme is scheduled to start on November 1, and Mr Thornton claims “there should’ve been a lot more education and awareness” from the state government on the scheme.

He tried to give some clarity on what the scheme will entail, and Neil Mitchell even gave his quick thoughts, stating the “government has totally taken its eye off the ball”.
