Fandom expert discusses if Taylor Swift’s billionaire status came from ripping fans off

Taylor Swift has officially been declared a billionaire but it’s triggered questions on if she’s ripped her fans off.

Fan studies expert and PhD candidate in music industry, Kate Pattison, says fans don’t have to spend thousands on top-tier tickets.

“In terms of the show itself, obviously, there’s very high production value, and she sings for over three hours … but definitely the money is a point of contention for some fans,” she told Tony Jones, filling in for Tom Elliott.
