Fans gathering in Hosier Lane for performance by Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran is performing to a small crowd in Melbourne’s CBD this morning, as he crosses live to the US to accept an award.
George told Tony Jones earlier the singer had been spotted in Hosier Lane, with a large crowd gathering to get a glimpse.
“He’s currently doing an acoustic type scenario at the back of the Forum Theatre,” George said.
“There’s about a thousand young boys and girls lined up to see him.
“There’s cameras on, lighting on, they might actually be recording a song.”

3AW reporter Donna Demaio told Tony Ed is actually planning to use the famous laneway as his backdrop to accept an award.
“He’s actually going to be accepting an award from an American awards show later on this morning,” Donna said.
“And he’s decided to do so in Hosier Lane.
“Fans been told they have to keep it quiet so it looks like he’s standing alone in Hosier Lane and he’ll perform then they can go a bit wild.”
