The Mount Bolton poultry farm owner who lost his home is yesterday’s bushfire has made a public plea for help to offload as many as 400 chicks that survived the blaze.

Noel Frunks’ home was among three properties destroyed or severely damaged in the 1200 hectare fire about 30 kilometres north-west of Ballarat.

He lost about 700 breeding birds.

But between 350 to 400 somehow survived, and Mr Frunks told Ross and John he’s looking to find them new homes as soon as he can.
